I want to keep dance society as inclusive, enjoyable and empowering as ever.
My name is Becky and I am a first year student studying Adult Nursing. I have danced since I was two and acctually trained full time last year in Musical Theatre and Dance untill I had a change of heart due to Covid and moved to Kings. My favourite style of dance has always been ballet but my love for contemporary has grown massively since being at Kings. I have loved my first year in Dance Society and have met amazing people and been pushed to be better and more creative. I would be honoured to be the Classical and Modern Officer for this year.
As a part of this role I understand, among many others, it would be my responsibility to find teachers for ballet, contemporary, jazz and tap. Having trained around London I know many people including family and friends who work proffesionally in Classical and Modern Dance. I also work part time at The Royal Ballet in Covent Garden which means not only do I know some incredible teachers but I also have access to The Royal Ballet's dress rehursals at The Royal Opera House! I also understand organisation is a vital part of this role. I unfortunatly am organisation obsessed in every way. I love lists, colour coding and being busy!
I also would like to hope I come accross as friendly, outgoing and personable. In sixth form I was the head of a boarding house which involved me and my team organising activites, promtoing inclusion, friendship and ofcourse emotional/ physical support. This experience was a privilige and a pleasure and I would love to use the skills I learnt from that peiod of my life to benefit dance society. It would be so exciting to work with a group of like minded induviduals to keep dance society the best society at Kings (obviously).
My aim is to keep dance society as inclusive, enjoyable and empowering as ever.
