Nadja stands for: Naturally, Adaptable, Dependable, Joyous, Absolutely the best choice! VOTE FOR NADJA!

As the current Field Captain of King’s Athletics, I am running for the position of president to finally break the habit of Sprint Captains becoming president and I need you to help me with that mission through your vote! Like one committee member said, you might have realised I “LIVE on the track”. I joined the club during my first year, taking part in the zoom training every single time until we finally met on the track again. You will have seen me doing the high jump or shot put during competitions, squeezing in a 200m race before doing my main event, the long jump. Being a former 800m runner makes me the jack of all trades that should in my opinion represent this club that gained so many amazing and proactive members last year.

Here are my main goals to kick-start the 2022/23 academic year:

  • Make the strength & conditioning sessions available for everyone again, not just the development team. Talks with the coach and King’s Sport are already underway.
  • Organise the training camp together with the elected committee as soon as possible since many have been hyped about it. Suggestions for a Sem A destination are the Canary islands!
  • Arranging an additional sponsorship (on top of our New Balance one) together with the treasurer to support us financially. We will need this to continue participating in the competitions throughout the year that we’re all looking forward to.
  • Additionally, I’d like to lower the costs for larger events such as AGM, Christmas Dinner or even some Wednesday socials by taking advantage of all the funding we can get.
  • Talking about socials, everyone seemed to have loved our Pasta social this year (thanks again Giuseppe). I would therefore encourage many more food and drinks/baking and cooking related socials on all the upcoming Wednesdays, organised by the future social sec.

I will be giving up my position as treasurer in another society to focus purely on King’s Athletics so please give me your vote!
