I have been a part of KCL EFS since my first year at King's and I am the current Head of Marketing.
Under my management we have increased our Instagram following from 600 to over 1300 followers, comfortably surpassing my initial goal of 1000 followers. We also launched our Instagram Reels and TikTok with our most viewed videos on each platform getting 13.3k and 21k views respectively. We re-introduced our newsletter, announcing events and information from our sponsors to our mailing list of over 1500 people. All of this was achieved while simultaneously advertising and managing the sign ups for all events.
Running the Marketing Department has given me a very broad overview of the society as I need to work with every department and the executive committee on a regular basis. I have always had to stay very organised and aware of what every department is doing so I can know when and how to most efficiently market whatever it is they have planned. I believe that this gives me unique experience and puts me in a good position to take over as the next chairperson. I have a degree of insight into every department that will enable me to be a good leader. I have attended and helped run nearly all of our events and know what it takes to host them effectively.
As chairperson I would carry forward a lot of the great work that Janina has done and work with the next president and vice president to grow the society and continue to put on quality events. I feel strongly about ensuring the longevity of the society, I will provide guidance for the next Heads of Departments so they can run their departments well and prepeare them for roles next year.
I am passionate about EFS and being a part of it has enriched my university experience. Being in EFS I have met so many great people who all work together to put on amazing events that make all the late night Slack conversations, hours spent on marketing material, managing the website and early morning meetings worth it.
I hope to remain in EFS as your Chairperson.
