Reliable, organised and experienced! Keeping an eye on the finances to help to support Dermatology Society's dreams!

Hi there, I’m Ritika and I’ll be intercalating next year! I’ve been interested in Dermatology since my SSC in Paediatric Allergy and Dermatology in 2nd year and am very eager to be part of the committee to learn more about the field myself and help others do the same!

I have significant experience with budgeting for student groups, having spear-headed multiple charity fundraising events, and been a core part of planning international conferences for multiple societies. Given my past experiences I am also very familiar with the processes for fundraising and event planning for societies.

I am an organised and efficient individual, and through my experiences with planning events and being on student committees, have learnt the importance of keeping everyone on the team up-to-date with the society’s financial situation, as well as keeping myself and others knowledgeable about the relevant procedures and protocols. I plan to provide the society with regular updates on this in order to ensure that the society’s events run smoothly, and everyone’s hard work on events can be brought to fruition! I aim to support other members of the committee in the role of Treasurer, to ensure their ideas for the society can be brought to life wherever possible.

I am adept at forming relationships with and drawing interest with potential collaborators and partners, and work hard to establish long-term relationships with organisations in order to source funding for the society. I have previously sourced funding for other societies and my creative side is a definite advantage when trying to find and entice sponsors and partners!

For the upcoming year, I aim to gain sponsorships and partnerships for the society with various organisations, including national charities and well-known companies related to Dermatology. This will not only help us with funding, but I hope this will also give the society more exposure nationally. I am also keen to liaise with other Dermsocs across the country to pool resources and arrange large scale events where students from different universities can come together to share their passion for Dermatology!
