Candidate for the position of Boat Club - Kit Secretary

Who’s that sexy boat I see over there? It’s Kings rowing down the river!

Why are you applying for this position?

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of receiving some new KCLBC kit – some would say its equal to the feeling of Christmas morning! Although kit may not seem like the most important aspect of rowing. It does have an impact on club cohesion and makes the us look like a well together club – To that,  I say do judge a book by its cover.

What will you bring to the role and why do you feel you are suitable?

I think a role such a kit officer compliments my busy schedule as I can sort the majority from the comfort of my home or on an quite night shift. As I have a great love for kit and a good selection myself I believe that I will be motivated to get the best quality and variation of kit for the club.

I have already had a role on committee which involves organisation with external companies and therefore I have no shame when it comes to sending countless emails to middle aged men to ensure we get what we want . I  am more than willing to take requests and constructive criticism to ensure that the club has the kit which is of best possible standard and to everyone’s liking.

What do you intend to do during your year in office?

Although it is going to be extremely hard to better the gorgeous kit which Miss Ceyda Oral has created this year, I would really like to add more retro/vintage looking kit as well as fun out-there kit for training. The addition of the kit bag is something I would definitely be looking into adding to the roster. I intend to keep our good repour with our current kit providers: Rival, Crewroom and Stich and push for more bundle discounts – this makes kit more appealing to freshers.

In terms of blazers and ties – we will keep to tradition. After all, What are we without our traditions?  However,  If possible, I would like to come up with a woman’s equivalent of the ties, Perhaps a broach or a hair scrunchy – don’t fret, these are only the first ideas to come out of the brainstorm.

To conclude the main goal of my time as Kit Secretary will be to having us looking the best club on the tideway. Simple as!
