Hello everyone!

I’m Alexandra, I am currently a second-year history student on exchange at Peking University this year and I am running for Head of HR & Outreach. I am passionate about diplomacy, in addition to being a member of this society, I am a member of Chatham House and the Global Diplomatic Forum. In the upcoming year, I want to contribute to the growth of the society by helping to reach out to a wider range of students across the university as well as keeping our current members actively engaged within the society.

I will liaise with the rest of the committee and pitch new ideas about outreach and wellbeing initiatives. I want to maintain good relations with other societies and I want to collaborate with other societies in joint events to try and reach out to students who perhaps have not considered diplomacy and foreign affairs.

I want to create an anonymous form which members can fill out with any Wellbeing issues they have (this can be anonymous). I will read these regularly and either deal with the issue directly or if it is out of my capacity to do so, I will redirect the issue so that it can be addressed appropriately. I will also hold regular office hours (for wellbeing or for members to express any other thoughts or opinions) on teams each month and will work with the head of Events on wellbeing events. This form does not have to be limited to wellbeing, it can also be another method for members to raise any thoughts they wish for committee to hear.

I want to help grow this society and maintain the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this society in the upcoming year where all members feel safe, happy and feel that their voices are heard!

Thank you and I hope I may secure your vote!
