About Me:

Hi! I’m Uma, and you (hopefully) already know me as one of your current social secretaries.

Next year is my final year of Medical School and would love the opportunity to be your Treasurer and on core committee. Having played almost every position on the pitch, I’m sure I’ll have no problems in a different, calmer role.

My hobbies include fashion, GKT and meticulous calculation and planning (did you know I did A-Level Further Maths ;))?!

Why I am perfect for this role:

Having lived independently for the last 4 years, far away from my family support system, I’ve learned to maximise finances and manage money most efficiently. Despite it being a rite of passage for most students, I have never been in my overdraft, which is testament to my effective financial management. Additionally, I am familiar and comfortable with handling larger sums of money, having been investing and growing my savings over the last few years.

I was exposed to financial planning from a relatively young age, working with and teaching my parents to organise and use the family Excel spreadsheet. I am comfortable with this software and enjoy budget planning using Excel, which I would continue if elected as your Treasurer.

I pledge to manage club finances responsibly and efficiently, striving to leave the club in an even stronger position for future years. I will work closely with the committee, PACS, sponsors and all those with whom we have financial relationships, providing regular updates whenever necessary. I am particularly excited by the opportunity to work with the Sponsorship Secretary to share new ideas for growing GKTWRFC’s finances.

I believe I have proven my trustworthiness, organisational skills and commitment to the club over the last 3 years. My time on committee, in conjunction with the experience of booking large joint socials – such as bowling and Café Nawaz (with over 50 orders!) – would be especially useful were I to be elected as Treasurer.

I care deeply about the future of GKTWRFC and would love to be on core committee in my final year here. It has been such an integral and positive part of my University experience, and I would be honoured to be as involved as possible for as long as I can be.
