Vote Priyanka for President! I promise to make you proud <3

Hi everyone! My name is Priyanka, the current vice president of the society and this year I am running for president of KCL Cardiovascular Society.

Why me?

  • Having been on committee for three years now as secretary, treasurer and vice president, I am genuinely dedicated to helping the society grow. I am very familiar with the workings of the society having experienced all core roles, making me a strong pillar of support as president. I am always happy to help to the best of my ability.
  • This year I organised our annual international conference and have experience organising all types of events in other societies too like KCL Surgical Society and KCL Hindu Society. I am confident my organisation skills and network of contacts will be of help in hosting a greater variety of events with more consistency next year.
  • Most importantly, I am passionate about Cardiology! This year, I intercalated in a Masters degree of Cardiovascular Science at UCL, which further solidified my interest in cardiology and I am excited to bring more opportunities to the society.

My goals?

  • I hope to create a calendar of events with variety and consistency, ranging from practical workshops (ECHO practice, using VR to understand congenital heart disease, vascular surgical skills), revision events (ECG interpretation, PT6 revision), academic career talks and more. This balance of events will provide a chance for more hands-on experience as well as networking opportunities, while increasing exposure to various cardiovascular fields. Through this we can also be on our way to achieving KCLSU Gold Society status on the accreditation scheme.
  • In order to expand our society, I intend to liaise more closely with national cardiology societies like the British Cardiovascular Society, British Heart Foundation and other university societies, bringing more opportunities for our members.
  • I would like to find a patron for our society so that we have direct support from a doctor who can mentor and inspire us, also helping solidify our society’s foundation.

I am friendly, experienced and passionate and am excited to take the society to new heights! Please vote for Priyanka – I promise to make you proud <3
