RISHA KAUR DUGGAL

India - a country of rich cultural dive and heritage with a confluence of religions, traditions and embracing all customs. When I first came to University, I felt the festivities we celebrate back at home would surely be lacking in my University life. The largest society at KCL, the India Soc, proved me wrong by organising the most enthralling and engaging events like the largest boat party for Diwali, Holi, Cricket matches, movie nights Karaoke nights, Socials and several meet and greets throughout the year.

I am a second-year student studying a BSc. in Biomedical Science and I aspire to continue the work to meet society's expectations for the academic year of 2022-23. I am standing for the position(s) of VP of Marketing, Marketing Officer and Events Officer.

I have been the Events officer of the Biomedical Society in my second year and have pulled off meet and greets, freshers fair and introductory seminars and talks with students and professors. The familiarity will help me be a better leader for the India Soc.

I am extremely passionate about bringing to light the events and bringing out the creative side in me. Marketing means thinking about what we need and want as people with problems to solve, dreams to fulfil, and personalities to express. I would work to ensure an organised sales environment alongside the active advertisement of events and what the society has in store for the students. Being a peoples person makes it easier to get organising and communicate the line-up of the year ensuring its ‘dhamakedar’ and am always open to new ideas.

Bestow your faith in our hands and this society will never feel like anything but home away from home in its own little ways.

And there you have it! If you’d like someone creative, fun, engaging and interactive as the Head of Promotions and Marketing for the Indian Society - you know who to vote for!
