Candidate for the position of GKT Football (Men's) - Treasurer

Jon Haugan

Dear Members of GKT Football Club,

With a leadership background in orchestrating an IT skills program for children and captaining my school football team, I am running for the position of Treasurer to ensure our club’s financial stability and growth. As a business student and an active football player, I understand the intricacies of our club’s needs from both the financial and the player’s standpoint.

Commitment to Financial Growth:
I pledge to secure a minimum of £5000 in external funding by leveraging my internship experiences in trading andfertilizer consultancy firms where I honed my skills in systematic organization and strategic planning. My proficiency in Excel and financial formulas will be instrumental in crafting compelling grant proposals and managing our funds meticulously.

Supporting Leadership:
From my previous understanding, the bureaucratic structure of KCLSU have shifted certain responsibilities of the Treasurer to the Club President, therefore, I am committed to collaborating closely with the president and vice president. My aim is to significantly reduce their financial management burden by actively trying to reassume those duties. Furthermore, I will explore additional avenues where I can provide support, ensuring that our leaders can dedicate their focus to the strategic and operational growth of our club.

Operational Efficiency:
Drawing from my internship with a shipping firm where I categorized delivery orders and streamlined operational processes, I will implement an efficient system for processing club reimbursements and other expenses, ensuring timely and transparent transactions.

Membership and Community Engagement:
I aim to not only maintain but to boost our club membership. My time as captain of my school football team taught me the value of unity and engagement – a philosophy I plan to bring to our club to foster a stronger community and increase membership retention and attraction.

Looking forward to the season ahead,

Jon Haugan
