King's Students Vote to Keep It Real

Over 1700 students voted, with 70% in favour of calling on King's to return to offering fully in-person learning.

On Monday 6 December, KCLSU held a members' meeting  to discuss the motion ‘KCLSU calls on KCL to return to offering all lectures in person’.

Students under the Keep it Real Campaign who called for this meeting are concerned that KCL senior decision-makers intend to maintain online lectures as a permanent fixture, as University management have yet to confirm teaching plans for Term 2 and there is no transparent approach to indicate when the University intends to reinstate in-person lectures.

After the meeting, we also opened a poll on the motion, which closed on Wednesday. The results of the poll showed that students have voted FOR the motion ‘KCLSU calls on KCL to return to offering all lectures in person’ and FOR both amendment 1 and 2, which were submitted by students before the meeting.

Our position now as a Union is to support Keep It Real to lobby KCL to return to offering all lectures in person.

The vote breakdown is as follows:

  • Total Voters: 1719
  • FOR: 1202
  • AGAINST: 400
  • ABSTAIN: 117
