Amar Abbas brings over 27 years of senior leadership and governance experience across the youth, education and public sectors. He is Chief Executive of Youth Action UK, an award-winning young people’s charity, and has held a range of strategic and non-executive roles. His work has also included advising and contributing to national policy and practice, alongside international youth and leadership programmes across more than 30 countries.

Amar brings particular expertise in strategic leadership, charity governance, organisational development, safeguarding and stakeholder engagement. He has extensive experience of working with Boards and senior leaders to strengthen governance, manage organisational growth and ensure that the voices of young people and communities inform strategic decision-making. As a Trustee, he brings both an executive leadership perspective and a strong commitment to effective, accountable and values-led governance.
