Get to Know the Film Festival Guest Speakers!

The 2022 KCLSU Film Festival will feature two amazing speakers: Dino Athanassiou and Florence Winter Hill! Keep reading to learn more about their work, and be sure to get your tickets to meet them and learn more about working in the film industry!

Dino Athanassiou

Dino Athanassiou is an Animation Director with extensive experience in design, storyboarding, and animation. He has worked with major film companies such as Warner Bros, Disney, and DreamWorks and is known for his work on films such as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010), The Hunger Games (2012), and Aladdin (2019). Dino was responsible for the direction of design, storyboarding, and animation for the 26 episode series Iconicles, and his work on the CGI series Peter Rabbit (2016) as Episodic Director was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award.

Dino will be joining us on 17 May for a Storyboard Workshop at The Studio in Bush House. This will be a chance to learn storyboarding tips from Dino himself. You can read more about Dino’s work on his website

Florence Winter Hill

Florence Winter Hill is a writer and director who specialises in comedy and drama. She was named one of the most talented British filmmakers at age 16, and at 18 she worked as the VFX Production Assistant on Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi. Her work in film has since been selected for BAFTA-qualifying festivals. Her short film IF YOU GO was among the nominees for the Best Writer Award at the BFI Future Film Festival, and was also shown at the British Shorts Film Festival 2020. Her comedy short The Gospel According to Gail was awarded Best Film at the BFI Future Film Festival in 2022. She also has experience directing commercials for companies such as ASDA, the BBC, and Moonpig. Her current work included a comedy feature on young, queer, creative women in London.
