Meet your host for KCLSU Awards 2026!

We're excited to announce that this year's host for the KCLSU Awards will be Dr Ronx Ikharia!

Dr Ronx Ikharia (Medicine, 2011) is an Emergency Medicine Doctor, activist and TV presenter. They describe themself as a queer, black, androgynous intersectional feminist.

Coming from a difficult upbringing and leaving home as a teenager, they self-funded their way through Medical School. As they progressed through training, they realised that their unique story could help motivate and inspire young people from similar backgrounds.

With their motto “You cannot be, what you do not see” they have worked hard to make themselves visible to young people, volunteering their time to give talks to encourage and inspire young people to think about their future careers.

They have presented TV programmes for major networks, both encouraging young people to learn more about their health and investigating inequalities in the healthcare system. In 2020, Ronx presented ‘Is Covid Racist?’, a highly acclaimed Channel 4 documentary investigating why Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities had been more heavily impacted by Covid-19.

In 2020, Dr Ronx was awarded the Alumni Impact Award at the King’s Distinguished Alumni Awards for their work.

A huge thank you to Dr Ronx for agreeing to host this year's KCLSU Awards -- it's going to be a great night!
