Ways we are looking out for your wellbeing

Wellbeing Week is all about finding ways to make time for your mental health. At KCLSU, we run multiple initiatives to help students feel connected and supported during their time at King’s. Wellbeing Week is taking place from the 8th to the 14th of November, so keep an eye out for lots of events and opportunities to get involved. Keep reading to find out more about how we are here to support your wellbeing!

Positive Peers

Created to help students support students, Positive Peers connects members of our community and allows them to learn from each other. They host one-to-one chats with trained Positive Peers, a support group called Positive Minds to help students experiencing low mood or mild depression, and also promote resources on maintaining your wellbeing and making time for yourself. There are lots of opportunities to get involved, so be sure to have a look at their page and see how they can support you.

Wellbeing Hub

The Wellbeing Hub connects students to opportunities and resources on staying happy and healthy while at university. With regular events on topics such as belonging, loneliness, and dealing with stress and resources such as the Support Cinema, the Wellbeing Hub is your first port of call to see what initiatives KCLSU is running to support you. Stay tuned for more information on initiatives like Take Time Out and Doggy De-Stress!

Black Students Talk

Part of the national network Black People Talk (BPT), Black Students Talk is a peer support group run by and for Black students. BST hosts one-to-one and group discussions and provides support that recognises the specific pressure Black students face. Sessions are taking place regularly on Teams this term.

Societies and Networks

Did you know that many student-run societies have wellbeing leads and run regular initiatives to support their members? Joining a society is a fantastic way to make friends and feel more involved in campus life, and student-run wellbeing events can help you to feel connected and supported in your time here at King’s. Student Networks also provide support and representation to communities within the university.
