King's Community Fund Projects Chosen

Out of 58 applications, 10 KCLSU student groups were chosen to receive the King’s Community Fund, which will help them turn their ideas into projects that’ll improve the community.

After getting through the first round of applications, successful ideas were put through a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style panel that chose the winning 10 applicants. The panel also agreed on how the £20,000 would be divided between the groups.  

All students could apply for the funding that was made possible by King’s Alumni. Applicants proposed using these funds for events, such as heavily discounted British Sign Language classes, cooking sessions to broaden tastes and a ThinkMental Awareness Week.

Other successful applications include a conference called ‘Black Women, White Uni’ and projects to tackle the issue of homelessness in London.
