Updates from KCLSU and King's about Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We at KCLSU are continuing to represent your views at the highest levels of decision making at King’s during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Serving our Members

KCLSU remains accessible to its members. To mitigate the risks of spreading the Coronavirus (COVID-19) through large groups coming together, our physical spaces, bars, cafes, and activity rooms will have much-reduced capacities and additional measures in place to keep students safe. We have accelerated our digital transformation to provide more of the things you love about KCLSU digitally.

Much-loved events like the KCLSU Awards, Take Time In and the KCLSU Postgraduate Officer By-Election all happened digitally with great success! This year, we'll continue to carry out online events, like our Digital Welcome Fair, as well as a variety of controlled on-campus events, which you can find out more about here. 

Protecting our MEMBERS AND staff

We are playing our part in reducing the spread of the coronavirus. The health and safety of our members and our staff are a top priority.

We will also have additional cleaning regime in all our spaces, hand sanitiser points, reduced capacity at our venues and buildings, card-only payments throughout student union spaces and screens up at our tills and service points to protect our staff and you, our members. 

Where guidelines and restrictions are not followed, under our Members Disciplinary Procedure, KCLSU will take prompt and effective action. You can read more about the Disciplinary Procedure here. 

Supporting our NHS

We were delighted that Guy's and St Thomas' NHS trust were using KCLSU’s The Shed and Guy's Bar to store and hand out gifts, such as food and clothing, to NHS staff during the summer. King's and KCLSU also donated perishable stock to the NHS.

Finally, our thoughts are with all members of our community in what is an anxious time for all of us. We wanted to pay tribute to all the brave medical staff, scientists and researchers on the frontlines of this fight – many part of the King’s community themselves.
