Starting a Group

New Group Applications for the 2023-24 Academic Year.

We have over 400 student activity groups and societies at KCLSU. However, if you have an original idea for a new group, then you can apply to start your own!

If your application doesn't meet the criteria, unfortunately your group will be rejected at the first stage of the application process.

Application process to become a ratified KCLSU Activity Group

New Group Applications Open - Friday 3rd March
New Group Applications Close - Friday 17th March

Fill in the new group application form including a development plan for your proposed new group.

Online Voting for New Student Groups Open - Thursday 23rd March
Online Voting for New Student Group Closes - Thursday 30th March

You'll need at least 50 current KCL students to sign into the KCLSU website & support your new group idea.

Activities Committee Meeting - Thursday 6th April

A meeting will be held by the Activities Committee to determine which new groups get ratified. You'll find out as soon as possible if your application has been accepted.

Appeals Form

Appeals Deadline - Friday 28th April

For any group who appeals, you'll find out by this deadline. This is a final decision and cannot be appealed further.

 

 

How do I apply?

If your application meets all of the criteria outlined above and is supported by 50 current KCL students, then it will go to the Activities Committee who will review it. They will contact you with their decision.

If your application is declined, you can appeal the decision by replying to the Student Activities Committee by email. The results of the appeal will be sent one week after the appeal deadline.
