Volunteering

To volunteer is a great way to contribute to the community, meet new people and make a real difference to others.
There’s plenty on offer for you at KCLSU! At KCLSU our Volunteering Opportunities range from micro volunteering activities for 10 minutes in one of our cafes to launching large scale projects of your own!

Types of Volunteering

At KCLSU there are 4 different types of Volunteering

Student-Led Projects

With the support and guidance of KCLSU, you and your society can set up and deliver a volunteering project related to Widening Participation or other worthwhile causes, which gives back to the community and offers great project management experience for students. Previous projects include activities such as delivering food to homeless people, sustainability and conservation, and running activities in hospitals or with isolated elderly people.

KCLSU Opportunities

KCLSU Opportunities range from one-off to all year-round opportunities ran by Staff and Students at KCLSU. These range from Volunteering at our Welcome Fair for 2023 (register here!) to taking part in one of our mentor schemes such as The Buddy Scheme.

Fundraising

From FIFA tournaments and sponsored walks to bake sales and bucket collections, there are so many ways to raise money for the causes you care about. You can either fundraise for charity, or help to fund your society or club.

Community Leader Roles

You might be volunteering already! If you are a community leader (president or committee member of a Group, Sports Club or Network, Student Rep or Campaign Group) you are already volunteering and can log your hours below!
