As I stand before you today to declare my candidacy for the position of Treasurer, I can't help but think of the wise words of the great philosopher, Notorious B.I.G., who once said, "Mo money, mo problems." But fear not, for as your Treasurer, I vow to use my financial expertise to ensure that our club's funds are managed with the precision and care of a bank heist.
Although I do not have an accounting degree, I do have a track record of successful fundraising. In high school, I was able to secure $25,000 in funding from an angel investor for my startup in addition to raising money from family offices for my trading algorithms. I understand that convincing someone to invest in your idea requires more than just a business plan. It takes a combination of charm, persuasion, and the ability to offer something of value in return. My experience in fundraising goes beyond just securing investments. As a founder, I had to develop processes to optimize how capital was managed and deployed to ensure the success of my business. In addition, I had to streamline the allocation of funds to my trading algorithms to maximize profits and contain risk. I know how to make every penny count and stretch our budget to its fullest potential.
