As I stand for the Biomedical Engineering Representative of the Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology Society, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to do so. Upon attending a handful of the Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology Society's events, I was hoping for more events related to Biomedical Engineering and I would like to make this more frequent by taking up this role. Since Biomedical Engineering is sometimes considered a niche degree, students have mentioned that they tend to drift between strictly Bioscience related events or strictly Engineering events. I would like to help bridge the gap between the two through this society and encourage interaction via social media and word of mouth for BME students. I had also recently been told that I easily interact with different groups of people within the cohort of BME across different years and therefore I feel confident that I will be able to fulfil the requirements of this role. Thank you.
