Hi everyone, I'm Lucy (second year) - I am currently one of the course facilitators in BSL society and I have loved helping out during lessons. Between helping to raise awareness of deaf culture and passing on the BSL enthusiasm to this year's new learners, I've had a really fun time with everyone that has been a part of this society so far.

Learning BSL had been a goal of mine for many years, but it wasn't until I joined this society in 2021, that I got a chance to learn and practice with other people. For people that have been to the sessions we hold, you will hopefully have experienced the extremely welcoming environment that I felt when I joined. Since joining, I can say that deciding to learn BSL and practice with people in this society, has been one of the most positive experiences I've had at university so far. 

Having now had an extra year in the society, this time in the Course Facilitator role, I'd love to continue helping out with this society and to help inspire as many people as possible to pick up BSL!
