EYE BELIEVE IN ACADEMIC SUCCESS - VOTE FOR ME AS YOUR OFFICER!

Hi there! My name is Ciana and I’m a third-year medical student and I am excited to share with you my manifesto outlining why I would make a great Academic team Officer for KCL Ophthalmology society. With two years of experience planning events for the MSA (Medical Students Association), and a strong interest in ophthalmology, I am confident that I am well equipped with the skills required for this position.

I am passionate about organizing events that are not only engaging and enjoyable, but also informative and educational. I am the current VP of communities for the MSA and have been sports liaison officer the previous year, having had had lots of experience in planning events over the past two years on the MSA. I have liaised with members of my team and other societies to run popular events such as a communities week dedicated to raising money for our charities, the GKT clinical fair and the Blues and shields awards. These events were all a huge success, and I would love to use the skills and knowledge that I gained from planning and executing these events to run exciting events for this society. I am familiar with all the logistics behind planning events and am eager to bring in new and innovative ideas to the society this year. I would like to run more teaching events throughout the year to help students learn more about ophthalmology as I think that this is something that is not widely taught in the curriculum. In third year, I had an ophthalmology teaching session where I learnt how to use a fundoscope, do an eye exam and learn about different eye conditions, I would love to run sessions on this to introduce these important skills to younger students along with teaching sessions targeted towards exam revision. I plant to also have more social events where students can meet the committee and find out more about what we have to offer especially during freshers.

I have a strong interest in ophthalmology and love learning about the eye am excited about the opportunity to share this knowledge with you. I am committed to putting in the time and effort necessary to ensure that each event is a success and enjoyed by all those attending.

Overall, I believe that my experience planning events on the MSA and my passion for ophthalmology make me an ideal candidate for the Academic Team Officer position. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the society and to help create memorable events for all members.

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto and eye hope you vote for me!
