Hello everyone!

My name is Nida Memnune Totu. I am a second-year Neuroscience student and I would like to run for the President position in the Neuroscience Society. I was the Secretary of the 2023/23 committee, therefore I had a chance to experience the society environment, observe how things are progressing and work closely with the president. 

As a candidate for the position of President, my goals are:

1. Create a lively environment for students who are interested in neuroscience with any background!

2. Organising academy and industryrelated talks/panels/seminars for students who are interested in the academy and the industry to provide an environment where they can learn more, ask questions to experts and network!

3. Biweekly events on every aspect of neuroscience to ensure that each of our members can find a piece of themselves!

4. Boosting KCL Neuroscience Society projects such as Neurosphere, yearly-conference and many more!

As a president my goal will be to maintain a dynamic relationship between the members and the committee; even most importantly, to provide a pleasing, healthy and lively society environment!

The skills I gained through the process of working part-time as a project coordinator at a women-in-business association, leading different voluntary projects, and being a co-president in an entrepreneurship club for 2 years in high school will be very beneficial for my position! However, at the end of the day, the most important thing for me is that you enjoy your time in society and that the committee does its work happily and with love!
