Hi, I’m Henry. I’m a Year 2 med student running for the role of Secretary. I had the chance to run societies before university and wish to use my experience for this society. I aim to help fellow members gain exposure to surgical innovation through talks and opportunities to enter theatres, as well as get opportunities for students to participate in surgical research. It would be nice for members to watch and engage first-hand and have a real taste of what the forefront of surgery can offer.

In secondary school, I was president of the Science Society and Medical Society, during which my team and I organised weekly lectures delivered by students and external professionals, e.g. doctors, professors, researchers etc. I have experience in advertising events, organising their logistics and producing write-ups.

To fulfill my goals in the society, I would be willing to reach out to researchers and surgeons, discussing the organisation of lectures, theatre and research opportunities. I would also like to take part in sorting out the logistics behind events, e.g. booking venues, advertising and moving equipment etc.
