COUNT ON SOMEONE WHO CAN COUNT- VOTE FOR RUI AS TREASURER!
Get to know me!
I’m a first-year law student from Singapore, who has previously studied in Paris and Berlin. With an avid passion for increasing diversity in the legal sector, I am committed to playing an active role in the Lawyers without Borders society, creating meaningful events that are both enriching, while getting to know people from various backgrounds. Email me at @rui-en.chew@kcl.ac.uk for any questions! :)
I aim to...
Budget |
Improve upon the current budgeting system and systematically manage finances in a clear and organised manner, so as to appropriately allocate expenses for events. |
Events |
Create and apply for funding requests in order to support and fund events, in so as to maximise our budget and plan meaningful and fun events. |
Fundraisers |
Along with the committee, continue organising insightful and collaborative events to raise awareness on liberation months through the effective setting up of fundraisers. I will pursue fundraising and sponsorship opportunities with fervour. |
What I can offer:
Budgeting skills |
As the treasurer of my high school's Student Council, I have experience in managing finances and keeping track of spendings, successfully organising school events. I was a Junior Analyst at a second-hand start up clothing store, and was in charge of inventory, setting up an elaborate system of logging vast amounts of clothing.
|
Mathematical Skills |
I am proficient with Excel and numbers, having represented the International School of Paris in several Mathematics competitions. I was in advanced mathematics classes throughout middle and high school. |
Being a team player |
I enjoy working in teams, having been part of the Varsity Girls' Basketball and Volleyball team in high school, and now a player in the GKT Netball team. I love collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds to maximise our potential. |
Communication |
As an avid volunteer, one of my most memorable experiences was volunteering as an English teacher to primary school kids in Cambodia, through which I refined my communication and interpersonal skills. |
Problem-solving |
I worked as a waitress in an esteemed restaurant, and honed my problem-solving skills, having to resolve unexpected issues in a high-pressure environment. |
Open-mindedness |
I have lived in Singapore, France and Germany, attending both public and international schools, creating memorable friendships from all over the world. As the co-chair of my high school's MUN club, I learnt how to work with and understand a myriad of perspectives and ideas. |
Why you should vote for me
My interests and passions lie in the legal, humanitarian and advocacy sector, and I feel that my values and motivations align with that of this society. A vote for me would be a vote for the continuation and improvement of the already high standard of events, content set up by this society. I will do everything I can, with the team, to create impactful and awareness-raising events through the effective maximisation of the budget.
THANK YOU!
