From the Lab to your Feed: Celebrating Womxn in STEM.

Hi! I'm Edelle, a second year Biomedical Science student and I’m running for this year’ social media officer.

I am all for being an advocate for women’s successes especially in the STEM industry and I hope to utilize my interest for graphic designing and content creating to highlight the unique perspectives, experiences, and skills that women bring to this industry. In order to elevate the Womxn in STEM Society's online presence, I plan to design posters, infographics and other media to spread awareness of the multitude of opportunities available to its members and provide resources and information on career opportunities, internship programs, and professional development initiatives. I want to make sure that all the members of the society, and possibly all women who come across our socials, have access to the tools and support they need to achieve their goals whilst having the opportunity to appreciate the aesthetics and eye-catching visuals.

Using my experience with creative softwares such as Photoshop and Canva, I am confident that I will be able to fulfill my role as a social media officer and will aim to consistently deliver across all social platforms, sharing and creating content that inspires and resonates with women looking to excel in their respective fields. I recognize that diversity and inclusivity are essential to our success, and I'm committed to actively seeking out and amplifying the voices of those who are often underrepresented in STEM.

I hope to foster a supportive community where all womxn in STEM feel welcome and included. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, and that's why I am committed to using our platforms to create a more equitable and inclusive world for all womxn in STEM. It would be my pleasure to contribute to the legacy of the society with the rest of the committee and members. Let's continue to empower each other and make meaningful memories together.
