Hi everyone! My name is Ben and I’m a first year Dentistry student running for Events Officer. 

Over the last year, many of my most unforgettable memories have been from ABACUS events. Whether it was TEN:10, the winter ball or bottomless dim sum (which I still have trauma from), I’ve loved meeting so many of you guys and being part of this community which I feel so welcomed in. Going into the next year I would love to provide the same experiences for everyone, whilst also improving on what you think is most important.

I have experience in managing events, including being the Chair for my school’s TEDx event last year. This included planning and organising everything from schedules, finances, logistics and liaising with speakers to ultimately ensure the running of a successful event. I’ve also led a number of music ensembles and helped to organise music concerts involving hundreds of students. These experiences have provided me with the necessary experience to organise large scale events, teaching me valuable skills such as problem solving and communication which I am excited to bring to ABACUS.

As Events Officer I would like to focus on organising a more diverse range of events whilst also ensuring the lowest possible prices, but more importantly I would like to take ideas and feedback from you, the members, to run the greatest events possible.
