TAN WEI REN

As a member of PRASS, I strongly believe that we have a responsibility to educate the public about the importance of plastic surgery and the impact it can have on individuals' lives that is not solely of aesthetics. Through our events and social media presence, we had the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise with a wider audience and raise awareness about the positive impact of plastic surgery.

As the Marketing Officer of PRASS in AY 22/23, I have seen firsthand the impact of our social media presence on the community, where our engaging posts invited members to join our colourful events. Hence, I would like to continue to contribute to PRASS via taking up a role within the core committee, so that I can better support the great work they have done.

I believe that there is a need to focus on creating events that cater to the diverse interests and queries of our members, as these information are often not taught in the medical curriculum, and are often stumbled upon as we embarked on our medical journey when we graduate. This could include workshops, panel discussions, and networking events that allow members to connect with each other and hear speakers who are in the field to share their experiences and expertise.

I also firmly believe that we should strive to bring in new perspectives and voices to our committee. By actively seeking out and welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, we can ensure that our organization is inclusive, innovative, and reflective of the wider community we serve.

In summary, I am committed to enhancing PRASS by creating engaging events, supporting my fellow committee members, and promoting diversity and inclusion. Together, we can continue to educate and inspire our community about the positive impact of plastic surgery.
