Hi everyone! My name is Emilie, and I am a second year in War Studies. First (and most important, depending on whom you ask), I am Norwegian, and we need to up the Norwegian representation on the committee;)

Other than that, I would be a great asset to the committee as I love organising events, meeting new people, and promoting a sense of community.  I have experienced how welcoming and warm the Nordic society feels. It inspires me to think about being able to continue to make people feel that way in the upcoming academic year! I know that the Nordic society socials are known to be great events, and I am dedicated to keeping that tradition going.

As social secretary, I hope to contribute through:

• Organising events that can make us all feel closer to home and the Nordic traditions when living abroad
• Enhancing the Nordic sense of community by collaborating with the other Nordic societies in London.
• Ensuring that everyone feels welcome to society events regardless of their connection to the Nordics
• Organising even more events to establish a strong sense of community within the society
• Making social media even more interactive and using this extended online presence to expand and promote the society
