Firstly I would like to thank the outgoing committee for all their hard work and a fantastic year!
ENT as a specialty is extremely rewarding and has an immediate positive impact on patients. It also involves sufficient outpatient clinic work along with operations, which gives it a nice variety.
I have been to a variety of events this year and I would like to develop and continue the successful reputation that has been obtained. Further to this, I am keen to also use the feedback from the current committee to help shape and provide invaluable learning guidance to those attending future events.
Drawing from my 2 years of experience as a student cohort rep on the Psychiatry Early Exposure Programme committee, I am able to collect feedback and suggest improvements and successful aspects to continue and maintain. I also was involved in gathering speakers for interesting talks, something I would be willing to do in this society.
We are privileged to have amazing hospitals such as GSTT, KCH, QEH, PRUH. I aim to share information and notices about talks and interactive workshops as well as helping and actively taking part in them. I also aim to make connections with ENT surgeons from many hospitals so that members of the society can gain a wide breadth of views, tips and advice to applying to the specialty.
I also would like to showcase how ENT is seen through the eyes of a junior trainee all the way to a consultant. This will help to understand how it is seen throughout the surgical journey and what the future holds.
Thank you again and I would really appreciate your vote!
