Hi, I’m Leona and hopefully I’ll also be your next secretary :)
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of events I’ve attended in AMSA during the past two years, so I hope to continue this legacy in the following year and become part of the impressive team behind this! It’s comforting to be in a society where there’s a sense of community in such a vast city, so I hope to share this with others too. I enjoy meeting new people and working with others, so liaising with other members of the committee and society is just a bonus to this role.
As someone who spends her life online, I’ll always be speedy to answer your emails and queries, especially if you happen to message me whilst I’m in a lecture. I’m very organised, as shown by my multiple extracurricular commitments and saved TikToks that are organised into folders, which is comparable to the consideration and prioritisation I put into my work life.
As your secretary, I aim to:
- Answer any messages and emails within 24 hours to prevent frustration or confusion and maintain my reliability.
- Send out a monthly newsletter with extracurricular opportunities to maintain engagement with the society, and relay news about any future events we have planned.
- Remember as many faces and names as possible, to ensure you feel more welcomed in such a large university.
I hope to maintain the standard of AMSA that the previous committees have achieved, and look forward to meeting all of you, even if it’s just as a member of the society. Please feel free to ask me any questions, thank you!
