We're breathing in words and hearing only notes, so let your pencil sing to the paper.

I have been a part of this society since September, and have loved seeing our minds connect, and grow together as we invent new worlds and interlace them. I love poetry and have been writing it since I was six years old, and I want to share this love and grow as poets in the society. I will plan writing meetings inspired by the work of certain poets, by certain themes, and also by deep respirations to enter into the world of our minds. I believe that poetry comes from a very personal form of inspiration, one hard to find in a classroom. That is why I also want to organize regular meetings that are not necessarily on campus, but in outdoor spaces, in the courtyard, by the Thames, or in nearby parks. Poetry is music with words. I will curate playlists for our poetry meetings, with different themes, and offer them as inspiration in the moment.

I also want to work with the poetry society to organize joint events to share our work. We will hold slam poetry nights and readings. The readings in our society will be more private and workshop focused, while the readings with the poetry society will be just to share what we have created.

I am hoping that poets will meet and want to work together, to build their portfolio of poems and maybe start working on bigger projects. I want these poetry meetings to be accessible to everyone, even if you have not written anything or are too shy to share.

Continuing in previous initiatives, I will also organize events to listen to established or young poets share their work, and hold workshops afterwards. Marco has been an incredible Poetry Editor and it will be hard to follow him, but I will work to capture the vibrance of poetry for our members, adding more events, and offering more settings to find inspiration and connect with our writing. Vote Liora.
