A BETTER PLACE FOR YOU, ME AND EVERYONE!
Hi, my name is Rishik and I am standing for the position of Welfare Officer with the MSA. I acknowledge the considerable importance that student wellbeing holds while we study at university and within our community at King’s. The elements of pressure, stress and self-doubt are resonating factors that can affect us all, especially as medical and healthcare students. Furthermore, I can myself relate to how personal circumstances and life can just get in the way.
It is about knowing these feelings are present and having accessible resources/opportunities to take time out for yourself and find the appropriate support that is right for you. My goal is to shape and tailor a positive environment that is a safe, open space where each one of us can express our thoughts and be at home.
If elected, my primary aims would be to:
- Drive to promote a higher range of wellbeing workshops/sessions run online and across campuses (placement sites); with more availability during the day to make it readily accessible
- Bring innovation to activities offered, such as incorporating and combining meditation/yoga, sport and other exciting ideas to make it more appealing
- Work with the committee to make freshers and transitions into the next year feel smooth, less daunting and even more engaging
Having been a school councillor for over 5 years, I prioritised the prevalent issues raised by fellow students, and we were successful in implementing several key changes and policies. With experience organising sessions and communicating with external organisations, I will bring these skills forward to this role.
I would be very grateful if you could please vote for me. I will always be committed to delivering my responsibilities successfully and give my best efforts to make positive lasting changes that can help us all! Thank You!
