Power of BioFriendship... Chemistry STEMs from us!

Hey! I’m Imaan, a second-year Biochemistry student, and I’m so excited to run for the role of Events Officer. My friends know me as the life of the party, and you can always count on me to bring good vibes to every occasion. Do not be deceived; I may be small, but I will out-drink most of you. If you ever catch me laying on the ground on a Saturday night, remember: you didn’t see anything. ;)

Growing up in Kuwait, I was raised in an environment where I learned a lot about other cultures and got to meet people from all walks of life. Moving to London, an even more multicultural city, I gained a lot of insight into the ways people come together and build a community. I also experienced new ways to party!

I've been involved in various societies and clubs during my time at King’s, and I've put together a bunch of successful events; from karaoke nights to bowling tournaments to Galentine’s dinners, I've done it all! I’m able to come up with event ideas on the fly, and I'm confident that my experience, perfectionism, and excellent organisational skills will allow me to plan some truly memorable events for our society.

As Events Officer, I plan to organise events that are inclusive, fun, and engaging for everyone. Some specific event ideas I have are roller skating disco nights, speed friend-dating, and potluck dinners! I also think it’s important to host cultural events, where we celebrate the diverse backgrounds within our society through food, music, and fashion.

Having been a member of this society for the past two years, I know how important events are for bringing our members together and creating a sense of community. To me, it's important to plan a wide range of events that cater to as many of us as possible. I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions, so feel free to let me know what you're interested in!

I'm committed to listening to your feedback and input, which is why I plan to implement a form where you can leave your feedback, positive or negative, after every event. This way I'll be able to review events carefully, and make sure each one is better than the last. Your opinions are important to me, and I want to ensure that we exceed your expectations.

Additionally, collaborating with other societies and organisations is a fantastic way to create more exciting events that provide even more opportunities for us to socialise and connect with other like-minded people. The possibilities are endless, and I'm eager to explore new event formats and venues with all of you. Together, we can create events that are unforgettable and bring us all closer together.

In summary, I'm the enthusiastic and dedicated Events Officer you need in your life! Let's work together to plan some amazing events that we'll all remember for years to come. Thank you for your support! ?
