My name is Vidisha and I'm a 2nd Year Medical Student.
As a passionate individual who is committed to empowering life sciences and promoting the importance of technology in healthcare, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the role of Life Sciences Representative for the Med Tech Society. I believe that I possess the skills, experience, and drive necessary to excel in this position and help the society achieve its goals.
Throughout my two years of online work experience hosting for aspiring medics, I have learned the importance of effective communication and engaging content creation. I understand the needs of medical students and what events and activities will interest them the most. I am experienced in refining my content to ensure that it aligns with the interests of the students and is delivered through various mediums like the website, TikTok, and Instagram.
Moreover, my experience as the head of Sewa (volunteering) for the Hindu Society has taught me the importance of event planning and execution. I have organized and executed various events that were highly appreciated by both the committee members and participants. For example, our Children's kite decorating event was extremely successful and due to popular demand, I ran a similar event later on. Both were extremely well commended.
My excellent communication skills enable me to bridge the gap between participants and committee members effectively. I have always been committed to understanding the needs of the participants and conveying them to the committee members, and vice versa. I believe that communication is key to ensuring that everyone is heard and their ideas are considered.
If given the opportunity to serve as the Life Sciences Representative for the Med Tech Society, I will strive to leverage my skills and experience to help the society achieve its goals. I will work closely with life sciences students to understand their interests and requirements, and collaborate with the committee to organize events and activities that align with their needs. I will contribute to the promotion of the society's events to life sciences students and raise awareness about the society among them.
In addition to my experience and skills, I would like to share my enthusiasm for the potential of medical technology. This year, I undertook a student-selected component that focused on virtual reality and pain management, which has sparked my interest in the field. This project has enabled me to explore the potential of technology in healthcare and how it can revolutionize the way we approach patient care. I believe that med tech is the future of healthcare, and I am passionate about learning more and contributing to the field in any way I can. I believe that my experience with this project has given me valuable insights and knowledge that I can bring to the Med Tech Society, and I am excited to explore further opportunities to work with technology in medicine.
