Stefanie Berkes

Stefinitely the right choice!

My name is Stefanie Berkes and I’m a soon-to-be final year medic running to be your next Events Officer. I’ve had the chance to become familiar with the AIMS events this year (which have been massively helpful) and I would like to provide students the same opportunities i.e. to become familiar with the specialty and the career opportunities available.

For the upcoming academic year, I would like to build on all the amazing work that was done by the current committee. I will maintain the AIMS revision series (with multiple peer and clinician taught revisions sessions throughout the year and even more near exam time) and the mOSCE (with an additional revision series online beforehand).

Additionally, I hope to:

  • Collaborate with more societies for even more joint revision sessions.
  • Create a monthly / bimonthly journal club (interest dependent) to foster interest in AIM research.
  • Integrate regular talks from internal medicine clinicians about the specialty and how to build your portfolio.

I (unironically) love academic events and I have a lot of previous teaching/academic events experience from other med societies. Acute Internal Medicine is a fascinating specialty and I would really appreciate the opportunity to organise your events next year.
