Upon moving away from home and coming to university, I felt a disconnect from my religion and culture, but joining Sikh society has helped me bridge this.
I wish to support and grow the society so that we can continue to welcome all and nurture a supportive environment.
As an undergraduate Mathematics student, I have developed a strong interest in financial management and I believe that I have the skills and experience necessary to excel in this role. My academic background in Mathematics has equipped me with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. These skills will prove to be invaluable in helping me to manage the finances of the Sikh Society.
Utilising my position on the committee, I hope to bounce ideas off other members to come up with exciting fundraising ideas for the society and grow the number of events we host. As a member of the Sikh community, I am also passionate about promoting the values and history of our faith.
As a society, I hope that we can continue to educate ourselves and others and collaborate with other London societies - as I strongly believe that this is key to growing our society.
