Alavi Hossain

Alavi - Making diversity the norm, not the exception!

I have a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity, and I believe that I have the necessary skills and experience to excel in this role based on my track record as a widening participation ambassador for King’s College.

I have a history of working with diverse communities especially since I lived in 3 different countries and speak 4 languages, and I am confident in my ability to identify and address issues of diversity and inclusion. My experience in advocacy and outreach has enabled me to develop effective strategies for engaging and supporting underrepresented groups. I am a strong communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills, which I believe are essential for building meaningful relationships with members of the society and the wider community.

As the Widening Participation and Diversity Officer, I will work collaboratively with the executive committee to develop and implement initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. My objectives include increasing participation from underrepresented groups, providing support and mentorship to members of the society, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.

In addition to my skills and experience, I am highly organised and detail-oriented, and I am confident in my ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. I am committed to upholding the values and mission of this society and contributing to its continued success.
