BeIt!

My name is Ginevra Comin. I am a second-year undergraduate in History and International Relations from Rome.

I am interested in becoming the President of the Italian Society as as I believe that, with my experience to date, I would contribute as well as learn. This past year as a committee member and social media manager has been incredible. A genuine sense of accomplishment. I was able to meet wonderful people and enhance my leadership skills. I recognised the significance of representing one of London's largest communities at our amazing leading British university, KCL. I'd like to continue on this path, assisting Italians and others in meeting new people, making lifelong friendships (as I did), and attending interesting and unique events.

Talking about myself, being class representative for three years has given me the capacity to manage time as well as organize and work in groups. I also formed my student union "Vox Nova" during my high school years, which gave me management, social, and problem-solving skills. I arranged events and debates, as well as devised innovative solutions to school issues and student inquiries. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I also organised an annual event at my high school called 'La Notte Nazionale del Liceo Classico,' with the goal of promoting the school itself, as well as the values of humanistic culture and the importance of its study. I also worked for the Italian Embassy in London for the past year, and not only did I meet many interesting people who I hope to include in future events, but I also developed strong relationships with the Italian institutions in London, which will be useful to our fellow Italian students.

As a president of the Italian Society, I would bring my enthusiasm for Italian culture. Studying history now and having spent five years in an Italian Classical high school, has developed in me a deep appreciation for the beauty of Italian literature, art, costumes, and people. As a result, I feel it would be particularly interesting to arrange a series of events focusing on the costumes and traditions of various Italian regions, promoting those areas, and encouraging students to visit our amazing home country.

I am also a very welcoming and outgoing person who enjoys being around others. One of the most essential tasks, in my opinion, is to establish a strong leadership in the committee. Indeed, I am confident that by forming a cohesive team, we will not only make this journey more enjoyable for everyone, but we will also achieve greater success. I believe that my enthusiasm, ambition, drive, and willingness to work, as well as my organisational, communication, and leadership skills, will enable me to be a fulfilling president, giving my utmost every day to improve and build a strong team.
