Hi, I’m Ismail, a second-year Computer Science with Management student running for the position of Chairman and Advisor for KCL Intelligence & Security Society.

Three reasons why you should elect me:

  • Having actively followed the society’s events, I find that my values align with those of KCL Intelligence & Security Society in fostering a better future within and beyond the Tech industry by equipping students with valuable experiences and helping them make a more significant impact on their path.
  • Having been a Technology Officer at King's Venture Capital, I am now, more than ever, eager to share the valuable lessons and insights I gained during an entire year of exploring the exciting world of Tech and Finance. This experience also equipped me with strong leadership skills and tools to manage and expand the society’s digital platforms.
  • I am cultivating a strong passion for AI and its applications across various industries. I am working towards a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence in my (next) final year, while also gaining exposure to significant aspects of Fintech through my complementary financial modules.

My recent involvements:

  • By participating in the KBS 48Hr StartUp Bootcamp, I immersed myself in crucial subjects relating to building and launching early-stage start-ups. This included identifying a problem for a specific user persona and developing a value proposition, minimum viable products, a landing page, brand identity, designing and running a Google ad campaign, and creating a mobile app.
  • I had the privilege to connect with well-established professionals, such as Dan Bowyer and Hans D Nilsson, to gain valuable insights into the early vision and shaping of the next generation of disruptive tech companies. My growing passion and commitment to Fintech helped me better understand what goes into developing a successful business and building an impressive network.

The most important skills I bring to the role: In a fast-paced and team-based environment, I can quickly adapt to new tools and technologies, approach complex problems logically to find creative and practical solutions, and communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
