Creating events that you’ll actually want to come for!!

As an event organiser, I believe that the individual should be able to work under pressure as well as be attentive to the wants and needs of others in the society. My manifesto outlines the key attributes I possess that I believe make me suitable for the role:

1. Passionate and dedicated: I've previously organised events at my old school such as Sri Lankan New years games and aiding in the preparations for prom. It showed me that I was able to work well under pressure and I truly enjoyed being a part of something that my peers enjoyed. I believe that it was one of the main highlights of my high school career.

2. Communicative and able to listen: Through working in with a group of my peers, I was able to listen to the opinion of others and collectively come up with suitable plans that everyone was able to agree with.

3. Attention to detail: My friends and family would consider me to be quite meticulous and organised. As someone who thrives on creating to do lists, I believe that it would allow me to pay attention to any and every aspect of an event to ensure that it runs smoothly and successfully.

4. Ideas: I believe that growing up in both the UK and Sri Lanka I've grown to have a certain appreciation for my unique culture and would love to create events to bring more attention to it. For example, I would love if Kings would organise more celebrations with the traditional games like Kotta pora which I believe anyone regardless of their ethnic background would enjoy. As well as a food festival, with different stalls showcasing the variety of sri lankan food and snacks where people could either home cook dishes if they wish to.

Another idea: A dance festival

In conclusion, I am committed to creating a more engaged and enjoyable events if I do get chosen and do hope that I am selected.
