Candidate for the position of KCL Chess Society - Tournament Captain

Jay (Jargalan) Ider

Hi! I am Jay, I will be on the fourth and final year of my European studies programme. I joined the society back in Second year and it was truly one of the best decisions I could have ever made.

I am currently on my year abroad so unfortunately couldn't take part in most of the usual Tuesday evening club meetings this year but I can't wait to be back to London to join in again!
Being part of the committee would be an amazing opportunity for me to be more involved in the life of the club.

Chess has always been a big part of my life as I grew up playing it with my siblings and father who passed his passion onto us. Most of my weekends were spent at the local chess club, playing for the club's team during inter club competitions or competing in individual tournaments. I have also participated in several regional and national championships in France which allowed me to gain a deep understanding and familiarity with chess.
I believe I could be a right fit for the club's team captain role thanks to my familiarity with competitive chess playing. In addition, I could provide training for the team through coaching from my brother who is an International Master.
