Ajancia Suthakaran for Henna society’s event’s manager

My interest in henna began during the summer of 2023. I spontaneously bought a henna cone and started to practice henna. The beginning my henna skills were bad to say the least but after watching tutorials on YouTube and TikTok I started to get the hang of it. I joined henna society at the beginning of this academic year so I can improve my skills and meet people that also shared a love for henna.

I would love to be a part of the committee as an events manager so I can plan workshops for all abilities and teach people how to do henna. As well as henna workshops, I would want to plan social events to give students plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make friends. Ideas I have for these events include: the annual mehndi night, a sip and henna session where everyone can do henna while sipping on mocktails, making henna candles, a henna themed games night and many more fun events!

I would also like to expand the committee by collaborating with other societies e.g. culture societies such as desi society, Arab society etc. to get more people interested in henna society. As well as this, it would be nice to plan events that raise money for charity e.g. the mehndi night as well as being an extravagant party that everyone enjoys, can also focus on raising money for a particular charity.

This is why I would love to be Henna society’s event manager!
