Hi all,

I am George and I am a 1^st year going on 2^nd year Chemistry student who was previously the first year rep for ChemSoc. I also was one of the SSLC First Year Representatives for Chemistry & Chemistry with Biomedical Sciences.

These roles have allowed me to form and maintain a positive relationship with peers, lecturers and administrative staff alike. I believe I have an already strong foundation to continue to work on.

Were I to secure this role, my goal would be to develop the social aspects of the society more, via a more regularly scheduled set of socials & collaborations with other societies, which will work in tandem with more academic based events that ChemSoc already runs.

I would also aim to invite & host 1-2 speakers in both Semester 1 & 2 to give shortform talks on their area of expertise, similarly to the more financial based societies (see KBFS fireside chats). Even within the KCL staff there are countless experts in a wide range of fields who I’m sure would be willing to give an hour or so to talk about their research.
