Candidate for the position of KCL Womxn in Physics - Design and Social Media Officer

Daisy

I believe the fusion of pictures, words, and background music can create a synergy where 1+1+1>3!

I want to become a part of the society because I admire how Womxn in Physics fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment, valuing everyone's contributions. Over the past year, I've engaged in various WIP events, including movie nights and physics conferences. I've been impressed by the genuine support the society offers to all members, especially girls. The topics discussed have been both enlightening and engaging, and I'm enthusiastic about continuing to promote them through social media. Drawing from my experience as the fundraising event officer for the British Red Cross society and my background in designing classmate pages during middle school, I am confident in my ability to contribute positively. Moreover, my passion for painting, sketching, and calligraphy will enrich my role as a design and social media officer, allowing me to share visually captivating content seamlessly with our followers.

Looking ahead to the next year, I propose incorporating color to represent the type of event. Instead of the calm blue, I suggest using vibrant colors like yellow and orange for a more visually appealing combination. Additionally, we can enhance our social media presence by sharing more pictures of people who attended the events. For Instagram stories, I recommend using artistic fonts for inroducing art films such as "The Little Women," to complement the English literature vibe. Furthermore, for in-person hand-making events, we can design posts with colorful cartoons to attract attention. Occasionally, for well-known themes like "Spirited Away," incorporating popular theme music as background music can provide a more immersive experience.

While generating new ideas can be challenging, the feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment when a plan comes together and more people engaging is truly remarkable.
