Planning your next best memories :)

Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m a first year Pharmacy student at kings. I’m running for the role of Events Officer for the upcoming year.

I attended almost every single one of the ABACUS events this year and had so many unforgettable experiences. From all the clubbing events to the abafam dinners as an adopted child, ABACUS is one of the main reasons I’ve been able to settle into uni life in London. A lot of the friends I’ve made in this society are the people I rely on every day and the people I hope to be seeing in the future.

In order to deliver upon my aims of being the next Events Officer, I will use my previous experiences of working as the secretary general in multiple model United Nations conferences. These experiences have taught me to properly collaborate with others to ensure a smooth running event, also developing my organization skills to ensure all aspects, such as the venue, finances, and number of attendees, are properly arranged.

I truly believe I can make next year’s events even better than the last with new ideas that ABACUS has never seen. I plan to work with the Treasurer to make events more affordable and be able to accommodate a larger number of attendees. ABACUS should also be meant for building lasting relationships, and I plan to build a stronger community where everyone feels included and comfortable.

I would also love to hear your ideas and suggestions on what you want to see happening next year.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions regarding anything through @ssojannn.
