Goals and aims
1. Case study workshops
Navigating case study interviews and consulting applications alone was something I found overwhelming doing alone, seeing as case interviews are highly interactive and depend heavily on analytical thinking. Having mentors to offer guidance, case resources and case buddies to practice with could offer different perspectives and promote consistency. On top of inviting industry professionals and offering skill-building workshops, I believe this would be valuable in helping our members refine case-cracking skills and achieve their goals in the consulting field.
2. External consulting projects
Having access to industry resources and building networks are extremely valuable. Partnering with existing consulting projects would not only offer opportunities to gain practical experience, but expose members to different industries and problem types. This could lead to the discovery of interests and strengths, and allow members to tailor career paths to an area they are passionate about.
3. Fostering open communication
Being able to network with consultants and obtain valuable insights through the society is my motivation to reciprocate. Building a strong consulting community within FoLSM would require open, regular communication and I aim to do this through Google Forms, Instagram polls and group chats. With the understanding that feedback drives improvement, creating a safe space for feedback would allow us to proactively address any concerns or needs our members may have.
Experience
Juggling between committee roles, sports and academics since secondary school required time management to stay on top of meetings and deadlines. Being part of different committees has honed my interpersonal skills, trained me to be meticulous when working on different projects but also sensible when faced with different opinions.
Some of my past experiences include:
Marketing Officer, KCL Life Science Consulting Society
Events Director, KCL Bioscience Students’ Association
Workshop Lead, Peer Assisted Learning
Secretary, College Pre-Med Club
With an appreciation that a role as vice president requires dedication, I am willing to commit and confident that I can offer opportunities for personal and professional growth. I hope to lead and promote the society's mission of supporting aspiring consultants in the life science community.
