Flore AIMARD

I am earnest to make the KCL Lawyers Without Borders society a thriving and enriching space which promotes dialogue, dedicated to principles of equality and legal empowerment.

  • Hello everyone!

  • My name is Flore Aimard and I am a first year International Relations student.

  • I consider myself as a determined, very organized, and active team player, with a strong commitment to understanding the world and contributing to positive change.

  • Both French and American, and educated in two educational systems (British and French) I am used to adapting and I am always open to changing my ways, and listening to others’ outlooks!

  • Having volunteered at the Paris Bar Bus, which provides free legal support to refugees, as well as the NGO Cartooning For Peace, which promotes freedom of speech and human rights, I have witnessed cases of injustice and I believe impartiality, fairness and equality are of utmost importance and can be sought through legal frameworks.

  • I am earnest to make the KCL Lawyers Without Borders society a thriving and enriching space which promotes dialogue, dedicated to principles of equality and legal empowerment.

  • If elected I would aim to:

→ Objective 1: Hold series of events such as Panel discussions with inspiring guest speakers, volunteering in London, fundraising events, as well as fun, relaxed social events

→ Objective 2: Raise awareness on issues through active social media pages, an effective and simple way to increase outreach

→ Objective 3: Collaborate with Lawyers Without Borders societies from other universities, such as UCL and LSE, to hold discussions, volunteering events, and conferences together. I believe we are lucky to all be part of the same NGO, share the same values and strive for similar changes and we must work together!

→ Objective 4: Increase funding by seeking out KCLSU funds as well as possible new sponsorship opportunities

  • I think these aims will have a positive impact on the society as it will create a stronger and closer community of students striving to make positive change.

  • I look forward to working alongside you to make sure every individual has access to the legal assistance they need to secure their rights and freedoms.

  • Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me! (k23061638@kcl.ac.uk)
