Overview

Join us this Disability History Month for a Q&A with Marsha de Cordova, MP for Battersea!

Currently serving as MP for Battersea, Marsha has a distinguished record in advocacy, including her roles as Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities (2020-2021) and Shadow Minister for Disabled People (2017-2020). Born with Nystagmus and registered blind, Marsha brings an informed perspective to disability issues, with over a decade of experience in the voluntary sector before entering Parliament.

This event will focus on disability justice in higher education, with key discussions on how universities and policymakers can better support and empower disabled students. Critical questions will address challenges like accessible housing, streamlined support systems, and inclusive campus environments, reflecting on ways to create a more equitable and accessible university experience.

The session includes:

· 45 minutes of moderated Q&A led by the Disabled Student’s Network and Adjust KCL, featuring essential questions for disabled students and allies,

· Followed by a 30-minute open Q&A for audience questions.

· Afterward, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and connect with others in the community.

Accessibility Information This event is hybrid, with both in-person and online attendance options. The in-person venue is wheelchair accessible, with British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation and live captioning provided on an AV screen.
